Our first stop in Italy was Milan, and we were only there for one day. We hadn’t planned much, so we just decided to walk around and see what we could find. Fairly quickly, we found the Galleria, one of the world’s oldest shopping malls. It is a beautiful building and packed with designer stores (and a mosaic floor that is known for its lucky bull testicle where tourists spin around for luck- don’t ask me… I don’t really understand it either). We walked through the mall and out the other side in search of what we could find next… and there it was, the most beautiful structure I have ever seen! Milan’s Duomo is absolutely stunning; there is no other way to put it. Its intricate details and Gothic style architecture had me mesmerized and I just couldn’t get over how incredibly gorgeous it was. When I finally pulled myself together, Adam and I finished our day by exploring the streets of the city a little bit more. We found the Quadrilatero D’oro, a strip of high fashion and designer stores, where we window-shopped, oohing and ahhing at the beautiful clothes and accessories from all of the stores. After that, we found the Castle Sforzesco and walked around the park that is located behind it before going back to the hotel for an early night.
